Mark Tyson and his fiancée, Jenna O’Hagan, who both work at a holiday park in Cornwall, won the top prize on the Super Cash Bonus Scratchcard, from National Lottery GameStore. And the couple say the win means its full steam ahead for the dream wedding they had been saving for.
The couple has been saving money for their wedding ever since. Both Mark and Jenna do have pretty big families who they really want to invite for the day of their life. Now that they do not have to wory about the cost, they can really start planning their dream wedding.
It turned out to be a doubly lucky day for Mark who had had a successful job interview earlier to join the Police Specials and had purchased the scratchcard to celebrate. However, because the interview was in Exeter and he and Jenna had to rush back to Newquay to meet family, the card remained forgotten in his wallet until later that same night.
Speaking about the moment Mark said; We had so much going on, I just forgot about it”. “When I remembered and discovered that I had won £100,000 I could not believe my eyes. It did not seem real and I actually burst into tears. We’ve always had to work hard and scrimp and save but this win just takes all the pressure off for us. It is completely life changing.”
The couple both work in the Hendra Holiday Park in Newquay, where jenna works in the fis hand chip shop and with Mark being a lifeguard supervisor. As well as paying for their wedding, the couple plan to give away some of their winnings to family and charity and help them buy a home together.
